Mann Government's Initiative to Prevent Diseases After the Flood: 'Provide Doctors To Every Home...' (X)
Mann Government's Initiative in Punjab: The flood waters may have receded in Punjab, but the real work begins when the government reaches every village, every house to normalize the situation. The Aam Aadmi Party government started working with this thought, and today people all over Punjab themselves are saying that for the first time there is a government that is not just giving orders, but is standing in the field itself. The special health campaign that started on September 14 has set a new example in the entire state. Such a big campaign to provide health services simultaneously to 2303 flood-affected villages has never been run before. Where earlier people used to go to hospitals for medicines, now the government itself is coming to their doorstep, with a team of doctors, with a kit of essential medicines and with full preparation to prevent the disease.
The biggest feature of this campaign is that it is not the responsibility of just one department. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself is monitoring it. Cabinet ministers, MLAs, party's district in-charge, public representatives, everyone is seen in the field. Somewhere ministers are meeting people, somewhere MLAs are looking after the arrangements of camps in villages. In every village, Aam Aadmi Party leaders and volunteers are standing with the government teams, because this is not relief, but an opportunity for public service. Health camps are being run every day from morning to evening, where doctors, pharmacists, nurses and nursing students are examining people together. In villages where there are no hospitals or health centers, schools, panchayat bhawans or Anganwadis have been made temporary medical centers. Essential medicines, ORS, Dettol, fever tablets, malaria-dengue test kits and first aid are available in every camp. The government has ensured that no family is left out. Asha workers are going door to door. Their only job is to know the health condition of every household, to get them to meet the doctor if needed and give medicines. If a child is sick, an elderly person has fever, a woman is feeling weak, then now treatment does not wait. The government has decided to reach every house at least once by September 20. And this work will continue without stopping even on Sundays.
Unprecedented preparations have also been made for fogging and mosquito control. Continuous fogging is being done in every village for the next 21 days. Teams are going door-to-door to check the sources of water, wherever there is a suspicion of dengue or malaria, spraying is done immediately. All this is happening under a system, a medical officer is responsible in every block and the complete report is being uploaded online by evening every day.
More than 550 ambulances are engaged in this work. 85 medicines and 23 medical utility items have already been stored. MBBS doctors, nursing staff and pharmacy staff of big hospitals are engaged in this service. All departments have been instructed not to let this campaign stop, neither due to lack of resources nor due to lack of staff.
When the government starts winning the hearts of the people with its work without even speaking, then praise automatically comes to the tongue of the people. This is what is happening in Punjab. When health services, cleanliness and relief are reaching the people directly in every village, the same voice is coming from everywhere, the Aam Aadmi Party government is a true Saadi government. This campaign shows that in flood relief work, the Mann government is reaching every street of every village, every member of every family. The continuous work being done under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is showing that the government does not consider responsibility as a burden, but an opportunity to serve, and when the public needs it, the government stands at the forefront. Today the people of Punjab are openly saying, this is not the government, but our faith… We stand with full respect with the Aam Aadmi Party.
